Mrs. Brearley
I am the Media Specialist for Sheffield Jr. High and High School, and am an online ACCESS teacher for Business Education classes in the evening. This is currently my 24th year in education. I have worked as a Media Specialist for 10 years, School Guidance Counselor for 3 years, Business Education teacher for 10 years, and for the ALSDE Post Secondary Education. I attended the University of West Alabama where I earned my Ed.S. degree in Library Media and Master's degrees in Library Media and School Counseling. I, also, attended the University of North Alabama where I earned an additional Master's degree in Business Education. I live in Muscle Shoals with my husband and son, Dylan who attends the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. ROLL TIDE! We enjoy traveling to tropical locations, spending time at the beach, and boating/fishing on the Tennessee River.
The media center strives to support the curriculum of Sheffield High School by providing resources that will encourage growth in factual knowledge, a love for reading, and instruction in information literacy. Students, with the permission of their classroom teacher and a pass, are welcome to come to the library to check out books or for research purposes during the school day. Scheduling is needed for large group classes accompanied by the classroom teacher to use the library or the computer lab.
Library Rules
♦ No food or drinks are allowed in the library. (Bottled water is the only exception.)
♦ Students with coursework always have priority over all other students when using computer equipment.
♦ Always use a quiet voice when visiting the media center.
♦ Jr. High students may check out 1 (one) book at a time for 2 weeks. Failure to return books on time result in fines or payment for lost books.
Please feel free to ask if you have any questions about the library media center and its availability of resources. Also, view the resources in the links section of this site for additional information regarding research, ACT prep, and homework assistance. Mrs. Brearley is also a Level 1 Certified Google Educator.
